When you choose your accommodation in Uganda, we can suggest a variety of places to stay that range from luxury properties to family-run guesthouses and hotels in restored historic buildings. Uganda is one of the best safari destinations in Africa, the home to the mountain gorillas as well as the source of the Nile. Recently featured as a top destination in National Geographic and Lonely Planet, Uganda safari tours cover more than 10 separate destinations. Every day here is genuinely an African Adventure.
There are very remote lodges such as Apoka in the north-east, providing an experience both luxurious and genuine. Other lodges and camps are specifically located to give the best access to gorilla treks, some of which provide as close as it’s possible to get to a zero-footprint stay. Kampala now boasts a choice of hotels, from the generic Sheraton to a more distinctive luxury boutique offering just outside the city. And throughout there are safari lodges and villa-style accommodation to suit every taste.
The lodges retain a sense of character and make the most of their often extraordinary location to create exceptional experiences and unforgettable stays.
In terms of destinations within Uganda, Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is a real jungle, dense and covering a relatively small area but one of the world’s most important gorilla sanctuaries. Gorilla treks are guided by real expertise and are an unmissable experience. Rwenzori Mountains National Park is very different, with snow-capped peaks looming above the clouds and a healthy population of forest elephants and primates as well as some opportunities for fairly challenging treks. Lake Victoria is coming into its own as a destination in itself, of course, and nearby Kampala and Entebbe provide fascinating urban experiences full of flavours and aesthetics both indigenous and colonial.
