Our 4-day Kenya Elephant Safari takes you to prime wildlife parks that play host to some intriguing and spectacular elephants. This tour will take you up close to these majestic creatures as you explore the wilderness and other wildlife that call this place home.
We will visit 2 parks that are well-known for elephants; Amboseli hosts huge herds of elephants both in tusks and size, and Tsavo hosts elephants in untamed and raw wilderness. Each park has its unique aura; if you're after other attractions you won't be disappointed.
Mount Kilimanjaro offers a thrilling backdrop for your safaris in Amboseli with a sizeable lion and hyena population. Aside from the wildlife, one of the most visited areas of Tsavo West is the Mzima Springs, which consists of 2 large pools of fresh water connected by rapids. The underwater viewing hides here are perfect for observing hippos, or just generally the game viewing is excellent, as the freshwater acts as a magnet for a wide range of wildlife who come to drink.
Other wildlife sightings expected include spotting the elusive leopards and rhinos, zebras and antelopes, cheetahs and buffalos.

Day 1: Your safari starts at Tsavo
Our Kenya Elephant Safari starts with a trip to Kenya's south at Tsavo West National Park.
Your day starts early as we look to have a great drive. We will pick you up at your residency/hotel early in the morning and head to Tsavo. Enjoy some thrilling landscapes on your way, taking photos of the plateau that will usher us to this wilderness.
The expected arrival time is around mid-day. We shall drive to the lodge for check-in, lunch and refreshments. Then a short rest before embarking on our afternoon game drive. It will be more of a glimpse as we acclimate ourselves to the wilderness exploring the wildlife, spotting resident predators, and the famous man-eating lions.
Later in the evening, we will return to the lodge for dinner and accommodation.
Day 2: After the Tsavo Elephants and Mzima Springs
Tsavo West has a volcanic landscape with lava flows and rocky outcrops mingling with the long grass and African bushveld. The game viewing is slightly more challenging here as you have to really 'search out' the wildlife amongst the difficult terrain but it just means the final rewards when you find that elusive lion or shy leopard feel extra special! There are many elephants here, plus impala, giraffe, buffalo and zebra. The birdlife is superb.
We test this old saying by embarking on an early morning game-spotting and scenery-viewing drive at the Tsavo West National Park. The African sunrise, the freshness and beauty of the wild, and the animal sightings shall be the highlights of our morning. We shall spectate as the browsers and predators move about unperturbed by the human presence.
We shall head to the Mzima Springs to view hippos, crocodiles, exotic fish, and a variety of bird species. The greenery surrounding the springs is a welcome contrast to the arid terrain that forms the bulk of the Tsavo West.
We shall head back to the lodge for lunch, a little rest, and check out as we head to Amboseli. The 100 km drive to the Amboseli National Park shall be through wild country. We arrive at Amboseli late in the afternoon. We shall relax and settle in at the lodge then have dinner.
Day 3: Huge herds of Elephants in Amboseli
It's easy to see why Amboseli is cherished by wildlife enthusiasts. Home to huge herds of elephants, both in tusks and size, against the backdrop of Mount Kilimanjaro, the world's tallest free-standing mountain and Africa's tallest mountain.
We will be early again! The sunrise and emergence of the Kilimanjaro mountain peak from the clouds are dramatic “weather permitting”.We will marvel at the vistas as we enjoy our breakfast.
Afterwards, we're off to the wilderness, after the resident elephants that will tower over anything that it's on their way. You'll be dwarfed in your safari land cruiser as you get up close. Your game drive will include these sightings and get an opportunity to see predators including lions, leopards, and hyenas, and other resident wildlife including crocodiles, hippos, wild dogs, buffalos, giraffes, zebras, and dik-diks among others.
You can opt to have a picnic lunch inside the park at designated areas, otherwise, lunch will always be served at the lodge.
After lunch, we are off to an afternoon as we continue exploring the wildlife of Amboseli. Amboseli is among the best wildlife destinations for an elephant safari in Africa.
Later, we head back to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 4: End of your Kenya Elephant Safari
On our last day of this safari, we shall have a morning game drive exploring more wonders and thrills of Amboseli.
The day starts with morning breakfast before we check out. We will have a short morning game drive then it's off to Nairobi.
We shall have lunch at Carnivore, Nairobi, known for its delicious barbecue that includes legal bush meats such as crocodile, zebra, giraffe, impala, and more.
Afterward, we will drop you off at your residency or hotel.
