Day 1: Start of Safari (Arusha National Park)
Your safari begins when you are picked up from your Hotel in Arusha & depart for Arusha National Park, you will have a picnic lunch and a game drive in the Park. The park is at the base of Mount Meru, which is good for climbing. It has a range of habitats including forest – home to the black-and-white colobus monkey – and is excellent for birding. Several lakes often host flocks of flamingos. The park's appeal is mainly its scenery. The habitat diversity spans from montane (mountain) rainforest to moist savannah to alpine moorland.
Day 2: Search for the tree-climbing lions in Lake Manyara
Nestled at the foot of the Great Rift Valley, Lake Manyara is a hidden gem. Home to more than 400 bird species, thousands of vibrant pink hues of flamingos and sightings of the unique tree-climbing lions. Your day starts with an early morning breakfast leaving your lodge with a packed picnic lunch as we embark on a drive to this small but amazing wildlife park.
Lush forests of Acacia and Mahogany trees begin to set the mood for what is waiting ahead. During the game drive, watch out for buffaloes, giraffes, impalas, baboons and blue monkeys. The main spectacle of Lake Manyara National Park is the tree-climbing lions. In the right season, you can see the shoreline turning pink with millions of flamingos flocking there.
Day 3: After the elusive leopard in Serengeti
Serengeti is a crown jewel for wildlife enthusiasts, hosting iconic wildlife on an endless rolling savanna plain.
After breakfast, head to the iconic Tanzania Wilderness, Serengeti National Park, via the beautiful high-lying farmland of Karatu and the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Leaving the highlands behind, we descend into the heart of wild Africa - the Serengeti National Park - with its endless plains, rolling into the distance as far as the eye can see. We head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park and hosts a good leopard population, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti National Park.
Day 4: Exploring wildlife at Ngorongoro
Ngorongoro Crater is a UNESCO World Heritage site teaming with an abundance of wildlife. It is an ancient volcanic caldera with a remarkable concentration of animals. As you explore the foot of this crater, you'll come across rhinos, elephants and buffalo. The crater walls offer natural protection minimising contact with humans.
Your day starts with a short game drive as you exit Serengeti and head to Ngorongoro.
Day 5: Discover huge Elephants and Gigantic Baobab Trees of Tarangire
This park is extremely famous for its elephant population and dramatic landscapes. Tarangire is dotted with ancient and massive baobab trees that tower over giraffes. Elephants seem to flourish here with their numbers on the rise making it a great destination to spot them. Another highlight of Tarangire is the tree-climbing pythons and the long-necked Gerenuk. You will be left in awe of the sheer size of elephants and baobab trees. Everything here seems to be huge in size and you'll love every minute of this place.
